umm yea you can sand down any car to bare metal i sanded the entire car a number or times to get all the minor inperfections out of it, every little rock chip and scratch.... the reason you sand in general is so the paint has something to bond to, if its a shiny hard surface the paint wont adhear properly

... looks awesome man..can't believe you wanna sell it.. i've sold many of cars in my day.. and i've almost always regreted it.. none more so than my MR2.. think hard about it.. dont sell it just b/c someone wants to buy it.. you've put alot of blood sweat and tears into that ride...
if you need a truck for work or something.. just get an old beater hell man.. you can get like a late 90's model f-150 for like 5 grand.. or less..

lol i just slod a 90 f150 but i want a diesel and a bigger truck..... who knows im gunna go take the truck out tomorrow and decide once and for all whether the audi gets the axe

Cool man.. What are the other 2 audis?? Did I see a 4000 in one of those pics? and a 5000? They sort of dont even come close to comparing with the a4, but they are classic. Dude if you had some pimper wheels and tails youd get ROTM for sure. Oh and not to nit pick, but whats up with your headlight?? Is that chick still interested in buying?.... Hope not!
