I don't think you'll have any problems as long as your clear thoroughly, sand and use Plastic Adhesion Promoter. I'm doing it for the second time this weekend and have had no issues with the first job...6 months ago. Just use several light color layers and 2-3 clear...you'll be golden.

 

You'll be fine as long as you clean the area thoroughly, dry and use Plastic Adhesion Promoter...then several light layers of color (to avoid runs)and 2-3 of clear. You'll be cherry.

You always have to be skeptical of body shops, especially one you don't use often...DIY is the way to go.
