I would say go for it!

I have heard/seen some people put this particular special sticker on the roof instead of painting it.

IMO the sticker actually looks like paint; so I guess you can always have that option.

I was actually going to have my friend make me a vinyl cutout so I can remove it if I decide I don't like it.

Personally not a fan of this, but I have brilliant black, and wanted that all along. It's encroaching on a Mini Cooper look, and I think the hood and trunk are a waste of $$. Paint it black and get flames put on it!!
