I searched on this topic in our forum and got nada.

I wanted to paint my stock calipers (since they are in clear view now with new wheels) but I wanted to "do it right." That would mean taking the whole caliper. I couldn't find a tutorial for how to do this. Any help from someone's whose done it? Is it worth the trouble or should I keep 'em on and paint them.

There is nice write up on the zine, you dont have to take hte caliper off to do it right btw.

 

I'm in the same boat....
would like to paint my calipers but removing them completely is a little intimidating to me (it is ONLY your brakes, right ?)
so I've debated just painting them without removing them....
but thats just half-***... i'd rather take them off to be sure I do it right...

help WOULD be appriciated... brman, u did this not too long ago didn't you??

 

removing your brakes is cake. It would take a lot to really mess them up. Go buy a Haynes manual or bently manual and follow along the brake pad change. At the point where you pull the calipers stop there and sand/paint them.
