For some reason the range of the alarm is only about 25yards. I stand outside that range press the button and nothing, one step closer and it works everytime. I don't get it. Is there a way to increase the range kinda like a signal booster on a radio? Then theres the weak sounding alarm, its not even loud. Apart from getting an aftermarket system are there any suggestions? Thanks.

 

agreed... no range... weak sound.. audis are too clean and polite, i want that alarm to scream, **** neighbours off

I saw a post on here or maybe it was another forum to give you remote more range. Basicaly they took it from underneith the rearseat and moved it just below the cloth on the back of folding part of the rear seat. they said it gave tehm alot more range.

 

I like the fact that the audi alarm is quiet and discreet. loud obnoxious alarms are for riceboys and their lowered integras. I hate those walmart alarms, they all sound the same with the same sequence of sounds when they go off.

im sort of disagreeing with myself... but i like the unique sound of the audi alarm, but when it goes off i want it to sound more like a car being messed with and not a soccermoms minivan backing up[:'(]...

but my main concern with it is the range and the beep afterwards to let me know its locked...

 

They are awfully quiet, I am thinking about rigging up a train horn so I can hear it from another city.

 

I thought this annoyance was just on the B5.

 

Ummmmmm, if I cant hear my alarm, I dont know its getting robbed. +1 for the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide sensors that lightly vibrate. Bullsh*t Just like my smoke detectors I want my car alarm to sound like the ones on russian submarines when they have a reactor leak!

I'm not talking about it being quiet when it goes off, I'm talking about the little beep it makes when you arm it. I like the fact that that's quiet. when it goes off, it isn't quiet at all, it blares the horn and flashes the lights. if you really wanted to make it louder I suppose you could add an extra horn or two, it wouldn't be difficult I don't think.
