PCV Valve

RE: PCV Valve
I think I need to replace it because I am getting some white brownsish gunk in my breather hose. It's almost like mucus texture and it also has some water in it. Somebody told me it could be a PCV valve problem.

Take off your oil cap, if that white gunk stuff is on the bottom of that too its normal. It usually happens driving short trips and using crappy oil.
I would do a seafoam treatment to the oil and you should be fine.

RE: PCV Valve
I take it a 2.8 does not have a PCV valve, rather a breather hose.
There is, at times, a thin coat of some white crap on the inside of my oil cap. I use Mobil 1 5W-30 and I drive 20 miles a day. Will do with seafoam treatment.
Anybody know the best way to do seafoam treatmentt?

Oh yep there it is I never had a PCV problem on a 2.8L so i didn't know where it was.
I still think the onlything you need is a seafoam treatment. If the PCV valve was blown you would be burning oil.
