Default PCV Valve

Can anybody help me locate the PCV valve on a 98' Audi A4 Quattro? Is it easily visible?

Don't think it has one on a 2.8L engine, you can see the breather hoses right there in your pic going to each valve cover. Why do you need to know?

I think I need to replace it because I am getting some white brownsish gunk in my breather hose. It's almost like mucus texture and it also has some water in it. Somebody told me it could be a PCV valve problem.

Take off your oil cap, if that white gunk stuff is on the bottom of that too its normal. It usually happens driving short trips and using crappy oil.
I would do a seafoam treatment to the oil and you should be fine.

I take it a 2.8 does not have a PCV valve, rather a breather hose.

There is, at times, a thin coat of some white crap on the inside of my oil cap. I use Mobil 1 5W-30 and I drive 20 miles a day. Will do with seafoam treatment.

Anybody know the best way to do seafoam treatmentt?

Oh yep there it is I never had a PCV problem on a 2.8L so i didn't know where it was.
I still think the onlything you need is a seafoam treatment. If the PCV valve was blown you would be burning oil.

Yeah, I am burning oil. Although, not so much lately. So is that the location of the breather hose? I take it it's covered with that hose?

i think thats where you put the seafoam for the intake manifold treatment, then also put some in the crankcase (oil), and gas tank.
