Why does all the interior dash, arm and buttons on the A4 peel?

ive never seen any of the interior peel except for the door grabs. They peel because of the material that is sprayed on them. Its a rubberized vinyl that simply will scratch off when it gets old. Thos door grabs are only $25-$35 to replace

Well I appreciate you sticking up for audi. But it is clearly a design defect and it does not meet any consumer expectation test i ever heard of.. I think it is also breach of implied warranty of merchantability and of fitness for particular purpose.

my dealer said the Germans refuse to cover it under the factory warranty b/c it's the Americans fault, b/c they use too much "hand lotion." I never use that. I am white dude.

I never get ashy. so the excuse is weak. since when do i touch theborder of my stereo console which peels more than anything? ummmm. like never!

I had that problem in my 97 on the door handles pretty badly. I even replaced them, and the new ones started peeling after 6 months. I've heard reports of the new B7's peeling as well. I know that doesn't make you feel any better, but I guess you're not alone.
