Thats wrost write up ever....do you cover the airbox again? orr jsut leave the box open? Im confused.

Ok, so many of these intake questions, I am going to throw my 2 cents in.

First of all, this is useless unless you have a big turbo that needs the airflow.

2nd, if you want your car to sound like it has a big turbo, install a big turbo. I am so sick of people doing useless mods to give the appearance of a vehicle with more performance. Just do things that will really give you the performance. And this is not it.

3rd. I have read the whole "airbox mod thread". Personally, I have a stock airbox with a higher flow filter. I think this is the best engineered solution for an a4 with stock turbo. I dont think opening up holes in the wheel well were the possibility exists for snow/water to get up in there, is worth the risk. If you feel differently, thats fine, I am just voicing my opinion.

4. The money is much better spent elsewhere if you are considering an aftermarket intake, unless you have already installed a big turbo in the car. Chip, better brakes, dv, etc. a lot more bang for the buck.

Anyway, just wanted to throw in my common sense, its easy to get caught up in the modding hype. put your money/time where you will see real results, not just louder sounds.

 

what money ? it took me like 20 minutes and some screen that i had laying around the shop
i just wanted to hear my turbo a little more, i wasnt trying to get power gains from it

 

Like I said, if you want a louder turbo, install a bigger turbo. I just dont get the " I want my car to sound like my car is faster even though it is not any faster" mentallity.

 

just becasue its a little louder doesnt mean he is trying to get people to think its faster, and it not that it sounds faster its that it sounds BETTER and not everyone can afford a BT

 

Ok, i dont get why someone would want the car to be louder, unless the increases in power it has makes it louder.

Louder does not equal better in my book, IMHO.

 

yea, personally i will spend nothing to get more turbo spool sound out of my stock turbo, before i drop 5k on bt
im not trying to make my car sound faster because well you cant tell unless i point it out, and its nowhere near the bt sound i wasnt trying to make it sound like that either, but what did i have to lose ? i dont like it ? fiberglass the holes up
