Default Performance Upgrades

I searched (maybe a little poorly) for some threads dealing with performance upgrades for the 2.8L 30V and came up dry. I have seen the chips (neuspeed and GIAC) and air intake replacements. I'm cool with the suspension mods, but what I really want is to see where I can source and what parts I can get for my car. Does anyone have a A4 2.8L 30V Quattro who can help me out?

air intake replacements are almost worthless, unless we are talking ported and polished maf's throttle bodies or manifolds. The stock airbox is very efficient stock. So K&N's are not any help, unless you just want to make your engine sound a little louder. The 2.8 isnt really good for modding. You could upgrade the exhaust. The chips don't provide nearly the amount of gains that a chip for the 1.8t does. A supercharger is goign to be the only formatable upgrade, also expensive as hell.

Oh well. No cams available for the car? Well, looks like I'll be saving my pennies for forced induction.

This is my 2.8 30v with Supercharger and BMC induction kit should be pushing about 290-300bhp.[8D]

www.pes-tuning.com sells the supercharger. Cams are available for 1.8t, 2.8 30v, and 2.8 12v engines. I know Schrick makes some.

Hi guys, i just picked up my 99 2.8 today . Supercharger will come in the future but is there anything else that i can do in the meantime. Is it worth buying the chip and the intake or is that gonna end up being just for sound

Air intakes for the 2.8 do make a difference, and you will feel a difference.

chip not worth it but a full system would be a good investment and will work well with the Supercharger when or if you get one.

The breaks and shocks would improve handling and a nice set of 18".
