Default PES G2

I was reading on the PES website that you can supercharge the 2.8 Tip if you buy the GIAC Tip chip to handle the shift points or whatever. What's everyone else's take on this? It's $5K but a couple years from now if I get into auto-x and need the ponies I might head this route instead of having to buy another car. 295 horses sound pretty nice, although I could go buy a 1.8T and tune the hell out of it, but I'm not much into tuning and tweaking, I'm not that much of a mechanic, so a supercharger seems like solid out of the box power.

Yeah, I was under the impression that a supercharged 2.8 30V will eat up the tiptronic, but according to PES it is feasible. So I'm wondering what everyone else's opinion about a supercharged 30V with the tiptronic regarding reliabiltiy of the tranny itself, that's my question.

its a lot of power.. and very reliable you wont be able to get a 1.8T that reliable and since you say your not that much of a mechanic I can see this as a good reason to go with the S/C

An SC would put you in a modified class at the track, which would put you with 500 hp STi's and modified M3's. You wouldn't have a chance and would be lapped many times. But for good overall power and tq it's an option. I don't know enough about the tip's to give advice.

300hp/300tq is defenitly nice to have though.

Hmm, I could just do my suspension and wheels for auto-x and leave it at that. The PES is pretty damn expensive but is always a tickle in the back of my brain for HP on the 30V.

It's well worth it, but not when competing in auto-x, only because of the class you would be placed in.

He will do fine in autox, that s/c is going to spool alot faster than 500hp stis, there not useing all that 500hp on the autox anyhow unless theres a long straight.
