I took a closer look at mine--they aren't really silver, but not really black either. It's like a gray color, or matte silver. I guess it works

I noticed yesterday that there is some kind of sensor or something on the back of the rear-view mirror, facing out the windshield. Anybody know what that is? I wouldn't think the autodimming feature would need info from the front of the car...

The rain sensors I've seen were all attached to the glass. I was thinking maybe it was some kind of auto dim for the highbeams--turning them off when it sees other cars, but I haven't tested this...
