I found that one of my cat converters is rattling like a ****. The heat shield is ok so I think there's a piece of the honeycomb in there rattling.

So what do I do:



New axle back exhaust. Cost to install 2 cats, the exhaust (no resonator) and new piping all the wat back = $200 Total price $583

 

either replace the cat or fit a test pipe ( as long as your sure the heat shield isn't rattling ) nice shiny back box there

 

I'm replacing both cats.

 

Nice what brand muffler is that?

Hows it sound/perform?

 

I have some rattling that's been getting worse, and although I haven't looked yet I'm pretty sure it's in the exhaust system. Is the heat shield bolted or welded on?

 

bolted and is a pain in the butt, made out of tin so they rot quick alloy would have been better

 

If it's rotted I hope warranty covers it... In any case, the noise is embarrassing - sounds like a real POS.
