So my car has air bags in the A-Pillars. But I want to mount my vdo gauge on the A Pillar with an A-Pillar Pod. Is there any special precautions I should take when doing this? Not the installation, just in reguards to the air bag/A pillar?

 

i would not even attempt to put a gauge on the a pillar with the airbag... unless you could somehow disconnect a fuse or something.. imagine if you are driving along in a parking lot .. someone back out and hits you.. what would have been a fender bender now has killed you because the gauge went through your face! lol .. hopefully that wouldnt happen.. but why take the risk..

 

Yea the reason you dont put them there with air bags is they will end up in your face in the event of a wreck and those guages probably arnt that soft

 

yeah airbags are painful enough, but throwing shrapnel in the mix just makes me quiver[:'(]

 

do all a4s have air bags in the pillars? i thought mine only had it in the seats and the wheel/dash

 

side curtain airbags became standard in 2001. otherwise its an option, I have them in the seats and dual front thats it.
