I just did a tune up 2 weeks ago...new plugs and new filters...my car ran great up until this weekend...when it starts it sounds kinda funny like a pingy sound...it goes away after a min...but then I can here it when the car accelerates some...it just kinda sounds loud...

it shifts smooth through all gears but I think I notice a power loss...

help guys...please...

did you gap the plugs?...

 

I'm not sure on the newer cars but check your "knock sensor," these are designed to keep the combusting gas from burning too hot. The other reply, about bad gas could also be on the right path, lower octane fuel also can cause this problem

 

Run a tank of 94oct through it.

your just detonating its no big del since this hasnt been going on for long tie. removr your plugs nd check the gap. double check every thing you did.

Go with David. I don't know where you got the plugs, but ALWAYS check for the right temp plug. If the don't conduct enough heat to the head, the plug will get hot and will cause pre-ignition. NO GOOD!!

What dave is sayin is that its only been happening for short period of time so if he takes care of it itll be fine.. yes detonation will cause damage over time
