Default PISSSSED!

i went to get my giac about 30 mins ago and they were riniging me up (before they put it in) and it turned out to be $575!!! 500 for the chip and the rest was suppies and labor? Is this normal? I always thought it was going to be about $500, maybe $530.... Im sure its worth the $575 but I just walked out based on principle. 4 months ago they told me $530 out the door. Jestnoman if you are reading, how much was your APR chip out the door??? By the way.. Never go to Auto Assets in Powell Ohio, they are ****** even asside from this ordeal. They wouldnt even work with me whatsoever on the price. The dudes name is Chip, seems nice at first, but once I second guessed him he imediately turned into an *** which is just plain bad customer service. So if anyone knows of a better price in Ohio for either APR or GIAC like less than $550 out the door, id like to hear about it. ***!

my apr chip was $580, but that includes one day shipping a state away and back with $1000 insurance, and two $10 emblems.. but i did the labor myself b/c all i had to do was pull it out and plop it back in. I hear great things about giac though, many more options and upgrades available than APR.

Thats cool, I dont feel like im going to get ripped then. Its just that some of these auto performance store employees act like their **** dont stink and have an arogant attitude in general, at least Auto Assets, and Passen Motorsports, here in central ohio. The thing I wasnt including was the tax on it. Anyway, Ill be posting tomorrow to let yall know how my 2nd trip to get giac goes. BTW the first thing I said when I went in there was "Id like to have my a4 chipped with geeack-(thats how i say it, i didnt actually spell it out) and the dude was like "oh.. You mean G.I.A.C.?" and rolled his eyes, that was the first bad impression i got... Then I saw the price which I wasnt anticipating and it all went to hell. I actually called apr today and the dude was basicaly talking me out of APR's chip which I thought was very strange.

What a d!ck. Why do they have to act like you are so unbelieveably stupid that you aren't worth their time? I say gee-ack also. At least that's what I think when I read it.

If you're in Ohio, I think ECS is based there, and they're an APR dealer.

Yep APR is up by Akron/Wadsworth. I was kinda set off by the labor charge too, but it's normal. I think I paid something like $650 or so, but I also bought 4 programs too including stock mode. The ECS guys are awesome to deal with. Very friendly crew.

Yeah I was not impressed with Auto Assets when I visited them.
