Default PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi All,
Sorry for sucha demanding first post but I'm at might wits end. I have a company car A4 1.9TDI Sport 130.
On saturday the electrical system started playing up. The ESP light came on then the indercaters were intermittant and the main lights were flashing. It was all crazy until all the electrics stopped working.

I managed to get the car to the local Audi Dealership they took a quick look at it and put the fault down to the wire I have connected from the life of my PDA mount to the Fuse 40 in the fuse box. I have had this installed since getting the car in Sep 04.

Because this was something I installed they are saying its chargeble at a cost of £270GBP, my leasing company wont pay for it as Audi are saying its my fault!.

Can anyone clarify if the PDA is likely to be the cause or that it just seemed to be the easiest answer for the mechanics?

Thanks for reading

Mat

I highly doubt that this is the cause. What do they say is the problem exactly. Sounds like the ECU went out.

They haven't gone into any detail yet as I've been trying to get the lease company to stump up the cash but it looks like im not going to win on that one.
All they said was that once they removed the wire I connected the problem went away!

fuse 40 is for the horn depending on the cars age?? so I doubt that would take your electrics out I also doubt it would effect the warranty but to be on the safe side connect it to fuse 33 which is the cig lighter

Its a 2004 Septmber model so not 100% on which fuse but I assue that fuse 40 was the cig lghter. All I did was connect the live to the fuse 40 and a neutral to the body work!!!
