Default Please help - what do I need to know?

I'm looking to get my first Audi - an A4. I'm looking to buy used - probably an '02 or '03 - since that's about my price range.

Can anyone give me some advice, or point me to a thread that already covers my questions? I'm just looking for advice on what I should know or what things I should look for when evaluating the cars. What is the warranty period for the '03s? I've seen things like timing belts mentioned on this board - should I ask if that's been changed yet? Any other advice?

(I've owned my current car for 12 years - so I'm pretty ignorant on the whole car-buying experience)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks.

Sorry, I figured I might get flamed (as I frequent some other unrelated message boards), but wanted to see if there was something already out there that someone could point me to.

I'm honestly just a little leary of the whole car buying experience (since like i said above, i haven't bought a car in 12 years), and I don't want to get screwed, so I'm just looking for any general advice that anyone can give me - particularly, what to look for, what questions to ask, etc.

If anyone else can give me any advice, I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, I'll do some more searches.

Thanks.
