Default please, not my p/s pump

ok iriving to a yankee game i live about 100 miles from the stadium and 20 minutes rom the stadium my poer steering goes away. when i get to the stadium i pop my hood and see that theres no fluid in the resoviour. after the game i go to the nearest gas station to buy some fluid, just to get me home, it leaks just as fast as i pour it in. then i decide **** it im in the bronx im not going to pay a few hundred dollars to get a tow, ill drive it home and hope for the best. i try putting more fluid when i get home, it didnt leak out untill i turned the car on, and when i parked it in my driveway the steering was a little easier but it made a lot of noise untill all of the fluid came out then it was quiet again, i hope i didnt blow my p/s pump, i just seen some prices on them, and god forbid my steering rack, please guys any input?

Two problems...yuu have a leak, and you put in power steering fluid that is not compatable with audi and will ruin your rack. You can only use either OEM fluid or Pentosin 11S fluid. Find where the fluid is leaking from. Could be as simple as a cracked hose, . If it is a simple leak you will have to drain and flush the system to get the "power steering" fluid out.

Yep David is correct. Fill it up and look for leaks in the system. Hopefully it's just a hose on the return line or something easy like that.

ok, i found the leak. the leak is coming from the bottom one of the 2 hoses that goes from the pump to the metal pipe in front of the ac condenser(im assuming that is the cooler),
do i have to go the dealership for that hose cause it looks like it goes from rubber to metal when it gets to the pump, please help i need the car up and going again by monday

They are just going to sell you a piece of tubing probably. Pull the tube out and try to find it at autozone or the like. If not head to the dealer. DO NOT use regular power steering fluid. You will burn out the motor and cause a lot of damage. $$$$

If you need it fast dealership is only place. Otherwise you can order over the net.

Surprisingly, my local NAPA has a few cans on the shelf, much to my surprise.
