hey,

i've got a 2001 a4 1.8t, has anyone ever changed the spark plugs on one?

i'm about to hit 80k miles and need to get it done. i was going to do it myself, but when i talked to my mechanic he mentioned that they have to tune the engine computer when the install is complete. is this true?

...change 'em yourself.. i've never heard of having to tune the engine after replacing spark plugs.. if thats true .. we've all been doing it wrong forever..

lol .. dedication right there.. so far i havent had any problems in the rain *knock on wood*

 

I use NGK PFR6Q. Get copper anti-sieze stuff. Put a small amount on each plug's thread. Torque to 22 lb.ft. Thread plugs without leverage to avoid cross threading. If no torque wrench, turn plug 5/8 around after hand tightening. Change your air filter MAHL LX622.
