I've got a 97 A4 with an APR 91 chip, and a K04.

I know that APR doesnt make a K04 chip, but ym K03 was busted up, so my dad decided to geta K04.

Now what would I have to get to release the power from my K04? GIAC chip and PC-16 software? And how much would that cost me.

Also, I took my car out for a drive last night, and I noticed im only boosting to 10 psi. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but because of my chip, my K04 is running at K03 power, is it not?

And with my chip and K04, how much psi can I be running, I was hoping for about 15+, but Im unsure.
Also, why would my psi be this low, is it the programming, or what.

Also, is there anything other than thw appropriate chip and programming Ill need to support a K04?

Yes, your car thinks it still has a K03 in it.

 

You can get over 20PSI w/K04 easy, but at about 5000RPM it will begin to drop off and I have read it will be about 12-14PSI at 7K RPM.

I am doing 19.5psi right now with GIAC PC-16 and a K03S but by 4500RPM im down to 15psi and it is about 6-8PSI at 7K RPM.

 

Ok, so for my K04 to be any betetr than my K03, Ill need GIAC software, fuel injectors, and PC-16 software. Anything else?

And how much will that put me back?

And my main question is, how mch PSI can my K04, on K03 software put out. I mean, is 15-17 psi too much to ask, or is that good? Because 10psi just isnt cutting it. And how much would it cost for a tunign shop to program or w/e the turbo for more boost?

 

You will also need a Diverter Valve or Blow Off Valve, and I would STONGLY suggest a Front Mount Intercooler and a new Exhaust Manifold even though those are not required they will help prevent heat soak, boost creep, and make your throttle more responsive.

 

As for Price, K04 is 750 bucks on one of the sponsers sites, I think the PC-16 software was 600ish, injectors are about 250 and a DV/BOV is between 100-250.

Optional parts about 600-900 for the manifold, and 150-900 for the FMIC (150 ebay, 900 name brand like EVOMS)

 

$875 for the full no cut bolt on RaceEngineering FMIC

I HAVE a K04/ My K03 was shot, so my dad just replaced it witha K04. But, it's runnign on K03 software. Also, I have a Diverter Valve. The previous owner had one installed along with the APR chip

Is the PC-16 software a seperate ECU, or it an addon to the GIAC chip? My APR chip cant handle K04, so would I have to buy a GIAC+PC-16+Injectors, or PC-16+injectors?

 

I believe its just a software update, but Sirfalcon will know for sure on that one.
