Default Power Steering Issues

My power steering is going crazy. the car is 98 2.8 5 spd. Every now and then it would get way too easy to turn, easier then my friends 77 impala. I checked the power stering fluid and it was low, so i refilled it, problem fixed...or so i thought. My car sat all weekend, and when i got back to it the steering wheel was really really easy to turn. Way too easy. there is absolutley no road feedback and it seems like i'm having to turn the wheel more to tun the same difference. It kinda feels like one of those old school video games that have no return-to-center feeling. Its kind of hard to explain. Any idea what this could be? I slid into a curb on some ice, and it originally started a few days after that.

no the problem didnt start for a few days after i hit the curb, and all the ice was melted by then. But driving on dry roads it kinda feels like im steering on ice. I'm not thinking its the fie rod becasue it comes and goes, and today i noticed that every now and then at really low rpms, 1200 or lower it is really really hard to turn. Its going from super power steering to manual steering when ever it pleases, and its really starting to **** me off.

Could be anything.

The fact that your fluid was low begs the question of where it is leaking out. If it is really low, you could have air in the system which would cause your symptoms Leak could be a bad rack, bad pump, just a hose causing a leak. If you are lucky it is just a hose or a loose PS belt.

Less power steering fluid would cause harder steering. I know what your tlakling about, like the old pole position arcade game. My steering is almost too tight. Have you found anything out yet? If your tires are over inflated, that would cause light steering too?? Thats a wierd one!
