Default pretty loud click when wheel is turned and car is accelerating

so, lets say I am at a stop sign, I make a complete stop and I am going to make a right..

I **** my wheel to the right and pull away from the stop...as i accelerate I get a pretty loud metally click

This click goes as long as the wheel is turned and the second the wheel is straight the sound dissapears...

acceleration in a straight line is silen, it is only when wheels are turned that i can get it to click...

Oh, and just to let you guy know, the car drives amazing, the steering is perfect, alignment is pretty good, there's no real pulling in either direction...

So, umm, has anyone heard of this, or experienced it?....please do not tell me its my power steering! (the power steering *feels* 100%)

tie rod? control arm? axle? Cv boot?

I am gunna take her in on monday to pinpoint the culprit, and depending on $ I may or may not DIY....if you think you may know it would be a big help if you could please share

any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried checking your power steering fluid?

If it's low, check for leeks.

My power steering level is dead on max, there's hardly ever any fluxuation in the PS resevoir...

another thing is that it sounds like an "exterior" noise, it's not muffled at all, it sounds like a loud metal click coming from a wheel well as apposed to a semi muffled noise coming from under the car....

thank you!...keep the advice coming please!

Could be your CV joint.

Is there a way to diagnose a bad cv?

Pretty sure its your passenger side CV boot that is gone. You can probably check it if you look through the engine bay or jack the car up and look under it by removing the belly pan.

You might as well jack it up and check out the CV boots. They're rubber and you should check them for cracks. If its messed up it might be easier to just buy a remanufactured CV axle. Just take it out and put the new one in...

It's most definitely one or both of your cv joints. You probably don't even need to jack up the car to tell, bc you can see splatters of grease on the inside ofyour wheels from the ripped cv boot. If it's making that noise already, you are past the point of just replacing your cv boot(s), so you're gonna need to order a new half-shaft (alxe) or two. Probably not much difference than the cost of rebuilding the cv joints, but I never checked.

Yeah man just check your cv boots and if they're torn you're screwed. $130 per axle @ purems and it looks like it's a pretty easy DIY. Buying the actual cv joints is the same price and they're harder to swap out (have to mess with all the grease and everything), so it's better to get the half shafts.

good luck man, if you want some help just let me know
