I have a 2002 A4 Avant wagon. 88K miles.

Start it up today and the engine light goes on. Drive it around the block and it is running like ****. Hesitates and the engine does not sound smooth at all.

Pop the hood and the coolant is well below min level. Weird because the coolant indicator never came on.

Any ideas?

Give us fault codes, type of engine, both of these problems probably aren't related un-less you have a blown head gasket.

 

Avant quattro 1.8, 5 speed manual.

coolant is fine.

When I go to accelerate it hesitates and the car shutters/vibrates.

Just running rough.

 

unplug your maf and try it, you may be running in limp mode or need to change your coils/plugs, vag com it and tell us what u c
