Exclamation Problem , Advise please!

Hi all !

This is my early thread on the forum and I would need your advise.

I am an owner of an Audi A4 2.4 engine Multitronic.

I bought my car new few years back and now i am experiencing some weird issues.

When i engage D and drive, it happens often (sometimes doesn't) that on the first gear (or maybe when switching from 1st to 2nd) that the car make this weird action by jumping (like if it has hickups) sorry, my english isn't perfect and i don't find the proper word to describe it.

On the other hand, when i am driving in the gear change option, this problem doesn't occur. I am just worried what the hell that is and would like to hear from those of you who experienced such issues with their vehicle.

Audi dealerships are a bunch of bloodsuckers and don't want to give them the chance to milk the cow, if you know what i mean.

P.s my car has 60,000 miles on it.

Thanks in advance.
Z

Might want to have a transmission fluid and filter replacement to start with.

Thanks... that is a start. but you think that sounds like the gearbox ? if yes, how come it does it when only driving automatic and not while shifting?

it could just be dirty or low trans fluid. you should start by replacing the filter and doing a transmission flush, and see if you still have the problem then go from there.

Ok.. I dropped the car today at the stealer to first do a transmission oil change. He mentioned that the car doesn't have a transmission filter btw. Transmission oil change costs €190
We will see and hope that solves the problem, otherwise next step will be finding where the problem is.. I just pray to god nothing is wrong with the transmission. my car has all the option that someone can basically orders in an audi, from Bose sound system, Navigation Plus, to leather electric etc etc etc.. considering i just lost my job with the f..en financial crisis, i cannot afford repairing ****..

No filter? That's odd - what year is your car?

I bought it new in December 2001.. one other thing the guy at the stealership mentioned, is that the transmission oil is recommended to be changed every 60,000 km

Thumbs down

Update: I received a call from the dealer today (where the car stands at the moment) informing me that Bad News, the TRANSMISSION is gone beyond repair and will need to replace it for €7600 ..
I am really sick to my stomach from Audi, a car with 80,000 km starts having transmission problems and now @ 104,000 km it needs replacement.. I simply am done with audi if the factory doesn't take responsibility.

If you can't get help from Audi on this, DEFINITELY buy a used transmission and have a mechanic install it. Don't bother with a new tranny for a '01 car. You should be able to get a decent used tranny for less than a $1000 - well here in the US we can anyway. I assume you're in Europe somewhere so you may even get one cheaper.

UPDATE: Received an e-mail today from the country General Importer saying that they will not take responsibility for the car repair as it is running for the 8th year now.. Disregarding the fact that the Transmission problems occured at 84,000 KM.

To be honest, Audi sucks and it is a brand which will be crossed out of my dictionary very soon unless they take responsibility, afterall we are talking Audi here and not a cheap brand car.
