Default Problem with front electric windows

Hi all, i'm new here but i have little experience with Audi models (and little history).
My first drive with car was with Audi 60 78' (grandpa wheels )...
Now i have my own A4 97' 1.8 (8) and ofter 6 months i can't open the windows from out side with the key. Something happend and they can't find what is wrong in the service.
Sorry for my englise but i'am from Greece. (Olympics you know... ).

Thanks for you'r time.
By the way .... fantastic site.

Jestnomen i give the codes and they will try to fix it.
This work with audi 97' 1.8 ? i ask becose i don't have security alarm from the audi or any else.
And my car is "maybe" inport to Greece from Germany and the document say that the codes is for North American market...

Jestnomen I Don't know the difference between europe and american model's so i did ask you. I will try to tell them to ckeck if there is chance to re-program the module. The funny is that if i will to open the windows now with the key i hear the sound like something try to open the windows and i see light to get a little change (like open-close) and then stay open again.

[:@] Why allways i am so un-lucky !!!! .
Anyway thank you both verry much for the help. I will tell you if will found... what is wrong...

I assume you are turning the key in the lock and holding it for two or three seconds?

Do the locks still work with the remote?

Remote? what remote? i have key only... if you mean (all door's lock/un-lock) yes they work and if i try to open close from inside the windows they work or if i try to use central lock button it work. All work but i can't open the windows from outside with the key.
I have did do something 1-2 day when i have buy the car. I've sprayed oil in the front lock's .... nothing else... is there any switch in the lock's electronic? that maybe have damaged? i hope not.... []

Put key in the door, unlock the door and hold the key in the "unlock" position for 5 seconds and see if that does it.
