I'm having a problem with the turn signals......whenever I push down or up on the turn signal lever, it blinks once and just turns off. It's not like the lever goes back up to its resting position, it stays in the pushed position but it's not working...my turn signal lights do the same thing, blink once and just go off. My friend suggested I needed new bulbs, but that can't be because they're shining just fine for that split second. I think it might be some electrical problem, maybe the wire is not properly connected, but i don't know...If anyone has any idea, do tell. I want to get this fixed quickly. I have a 2001 A4 1.8T Quattro

2nd (it's located in the hazard button)

 

someone told me it might be the turn signal flasher....that I need to replace it....is that what you mean by the turn signal relay?

 

yeah i think its the same thing.

 

where is the turn signal flasher located? and is it easy to replace....i really don't want to spend a ton of money on labor?

 

The turn signal relay is located in the middle of the dash inside the hazard flasher button. You know above the radio.

Do your hazards work?

 

replace the hazard switch they like to go out most on the a6's but sometimes one will go out on an a4 i think i payed like 30 dollars for a hazard switch @ the dealer it took all of about 10 mins to put in
