car will idle fine for first couple of minutes and cel light is on the whole time there is no coolant temp sensor in it im sure, well hoping that this is my problem cuz i have one that im putting in tomarrow, and also when i first start it up it flashes the word oil under where it tell you the mileage what does this mean, o i have a 97 a4 quattro 1.8t

 

get the car VAG'd or scanned for codes to see specificially what's causing the CEL. i'd also check to see if you have enough oil.
