Guys.. IMPORTANT-- I just got beat by a chevy silverado diesel pickup truck! This truck had *****. he said a 700 dollar power unit exhaust and intake. This thing wized pass me! i had the pedal to the floor and it didn't pick up at all.


My car is automatic.. Im looking into what possible mods i can do. So far im thinking exhaust and air filter.. I dont know what brands are great but all i know is that exhaust should unleash a little power thats stored in the engine.

For my 3.0L is there any further upgrades possible.

I was thinking.. If i can get a "probably used" 8 pound trubo from a WRX or maybe even the 1.8T will that add a lot of power. I want to be able to go to the track and put up a good race.

Do you guys think my car can be about ...maybe 13 second???

How much would it take to make a 3.0L a 13 second car?

 

You would need a superchager.
But I dont think the tip tranny can handle that much power.
Go for a nice flow exaust .
should give you about 20 HP

 

Air filter with the exhaust? do you reccomend a certain type of exhaust?

what type of supercharger.. probably a lot of money. why would turbo not work?

 

Turbo is not the way to go with the 3.0 in terms of major upgrades.
S/C is more common.
Air filter wont hurt , but wont do much.
Check out evoms.com for an intake.
And I think PES makes a S/C for the 3.0 but your tranny wont be able to handle it.
Not sure about exuast. Search the net for it .

 

so you think the s/c is a bad idea? because i was driving the car and it has no pickup.. i mean for a 45 thousand car i would expect it to have more pickup. The BMW 5 series.. i can compare that to my car.. as of sound and interior.. the audi is so much better than the BMW but for proformance the audi must be on the bottom of the list.

Aftermarket transmission possibility?

 

www.pes-tuning.com makes a supercharger but i don't think it's available yet. they claim 320HP with just the s/c (stock exhaust, intake, etc.). if you want to supercharge it you'll need to have your tranny rebuilt by these guys: www.levelten.com

 

also, look into a tip chip from GIAC, it takes shifting time down from 1 second to .2 seconds

 

A stock 3.0 shouldnt be so slow that u cant bear it ..

The supercharger seems resonable.. how much u think its going to cost total.. for the s/c
