I just had to jump-start my car because I switched the lights on and left them for about an hour ....only had about 8 volts ...not enough to crank .
So I jumped it and after I did .....the speedometer pulses between like 0 and 4 mph ..no matter how fast I am going and the tachometer just sits there like it's dead ....I've tested all the fuses and they are all good . All lights and other guages work but not the speedo and tach .
I am really in a fix here cause i have to drive this car and i won't know how fast I am going !

 

Also there is a clicking noise every time the speedometer twitches ...which is about 3 times per second ! I can't find anybody else who has had this problem . I've been looking on the forums for the last 30 minutes !

 

Try disconnecting the battery for a few min. then re connecting it. I am pretty sure this will re-set your ECU and hopefully will fix it!

Replace the battery.

 

Don't know how it happened but ended up being the instrument cluster ..I am guessing a voltage spike took it out or something . I got a used one off eBay for $100 to use temporarily and I am sending my broken one to www.bba-reman.com . They will repair it and give me a 2 year warranty . Anybody ever dealt with them ?
