I am considering a new 04 A4 3.0 Quattro Manual. Can any other owners let me know how their experience has been with the car? Troubles, etc. I am also considering the Ultra Sport package. Do you think the package is worth the extra money? Thanks in advance.

 

audis are awesome, i strongly recommend the 1.8t unless you plan on forced induction w/ the 3.0, that would be HOTT

 

I'm not looking to "rice" my car out with boy-racer gee-gaws. I want to have a very subtle, subdued vehicle. Think stealth. I might consider some suspension upgrades or upgrades of the sound system, but that's likely it. I also might consider some subtle engine tweeks if there are some good options. Nothing outlandish or likely to result in any appreciable decrease in longevity of the engine. I would prefer to stay away from the 1.8 because of the lack of low end torque and I typically hold cars for long periods of time.

I currently have a '96 900SE, Manual Saab with 178,000 miles on it - original turbo. It is in almost immaculate condition. I much prefer longevity to ultimate performance. Of course, I do enjoy driving fast and truly enjoy a good handling vehicle. I have always preferred handling over outright acceleration/power. I have also participated in a number of classic car races through the SCCA and find that poise and handling can often trump pure power.

Anyway, maybe many of the myquestions could be answered by a couple of really good FAQ's. I did a quick search on this site and didn't come up with any FAQ listings. Are there any here?

If you don't get the sport package, I would upgrade the suspension on it. The standard suspension has a bit of a wheel gap. I don't know what all is included in the "ultra sport package" on the new A4's, probably a 3 spoke steering wheel and sport suspension. Did they tell you what else the package had? Also how much extra is it?

 

The Ultra Sport is about US$2,300 - rather pricey. Still, it comes with interior aluminum trim, like the S4, three spoke perf-leather steering wheel, full-body aero kit (front and rear color-keyed air dams, side skirt extensions), 18" wheels, and a modest lip spoiler on the trunk.

 

Thats not that bad of a price, I think you'll like it better with the extra goodies.

 

I just picked up a brand new A4 1.8 t with Ultra Sport pckg. I like it. Low profile warm weather Tires on larger 18 inch rims,Sport Suspension,Aluminum inside trim, Aerodynamic kit, Perforated Steering wheel/ Shift ****. all for $2950.00 U.S.

 

Tell me that's just for the sports package...either that or your missing a zero in your price

 

I was describing what the UltraSport pckg contains. The $2950.00 was just for that package. Almost 10 percent of the cost of the entire car!
