purchasing 03 a4 3.0 price ?? what do u guys think ?
hi, and thanks to everyone on this post helping newbis out like me
its my second or third post i THINK >> ?
anyway .. its bit late but i have purchased a audi a4 2003 3.0 back in april 2nd of 2007
for 21,900 including tax and everything .. preowned certified with another 20,000 mile warranty
and 47,000 miles on it ....
is that a reasonable price ?
ipurchased this car from New Jersey Fairlawn's Jack Daniels ... yea .. dude's name was Roger
couple of my friends have purchased a4's from there ...
listed price for this audi was 20,999.. and i got it down to 18,999 .. so i guess i got 2,000 grand off according to roger.. (or is this just a salesman tricking customer ??? )
just wanna hear what you guys think about the price i paid ...
this a4 includes, fully option (no NAV), HID light,.... 5 spoke stock rims ... ...
um ... yea ...
thank you so much once again !!
tony
haha ,, i guess so maybe i was dreaming... i've had this ID for awhile that is why .. lol
yea, i read a thread about the TB replacing before purchasing ..... i had no knowledge at alll
i originally was going to purchase 1.8t with 30000 miles on it for the same price ...
however, it was sold a day before i got there ... ****.et ...
so i was just in a rush to get it ... since i lived 2 hrs away from the dealeship ..
NE way ...
just a question .. 56,000 miles on now .. comming up for 60000 service ..
they told me 400 for service .... under bentley catalog it says REPLACE TIMING BELT >. does it mean that
under 400 it include the replacing the TB ?? or am i just dreaming ?

nooo lol. doncha wish it was that cheap? if u buy the parts and get a shop to do it, it'll cost u bout 6-800 bux total. u can DIY if u kno basic car knowledge and some tools.
I have the same vehicle and you did pay a good price for it. As for the timing belt change way to early for that. My owners manual and service manual has timing belt change at 105,000 miles but I most likely will be getting it changed at around 80,000- 85,000 miles to be on the safe side. Currently have about 52,000 miles on car and make sure your putting synthetic oil not regular......

yea .. i coudlnt' make it to my stealership in time for OIL change
so i did it at JIFFYlube .. for 75 bucks ...
stupid douchebag forgot to tighten the front bumper cover (i mean the near the tire where the cover for the bumper is)
so in result, **** was flopping around when i was driving and eventually the plastic cover was ripped and created a hole that is size of an adults fist...
worst thing is that i found out after like a month .. so .. i can't even claim this **** ..
anyhow ....
thanks for the tip !!

tony
Post some pic's when you get a chance and you might want to start doing your own oil changes if you have the time to. I would not trust no one to change the oil, "you really don't know if the really put synthetic in there"..........

i will post some pix asap .. when it gets light out ..
and i yea i agree with you i was there staring them down making surethatthey wereusing the symthetic oil ..
it was brand new container, never opened .....
nyc .. never believe anybody
uh, if i were u i would do the change evry 60k miles or so. even though the v6 engines arn't prone to snapping the belt as much as the 1.8t engine, u will still be super fucked if it does break. so seeing as the choices are 800 bux evry 60k miles or 20 grand evry 60k miles. a little exagerated but u get my drift. and u should start doing ur own oil changes cuz it costs bout 40-50 bux and 20 min.
That's not a bad price at all. And the timing belt bit: in '03 the wording was "Maximum life of the timing belt is 105,000 miles." Meaning, get it replaced before then. According to the folks in the service department here, the vast majority of the TB failures they see occur between 90 and 100 thousand miles. Get it done between 75 and 80.
