Default Quattro?

Ok so I'm new to the Audi scene. Just purchased an 01 A4 1.8t today and I cant wait to pick it up on monday. But, my newb question is this (I'm sure I'll have plenty more [:@]). How can I tell if its a quattro? Would it say it on the car. It has a red T to designate the sport edition from what I've read. But thats about all I know. I'm sure I'll know more when I pick it up. Didnt look specifically or ask about the Quattro edition though. Thanks

There would be 3 badges.. one on the front grille, one on the interiror by the glove box and one on the back unter "1.8t" badge. If you didnt notice it, it probably doesnt have it.

IT should say quattro. otherwise look up the vin number and it will tell you, i forget what the letter/number in the vin is but someone can chime in. it should say. badges on the grill and under the 1.8t/2.8 will identify it as a quattro. also above the glove box.

the red T means its a 2001.5 1.8T with the additional 20 hp, not signifying a sport model. i for example am non sport but have the red T.

EDIT: beat me to it onepoint8tee.

Rev it to about 5k and drop the clutch you'll know if it's quattro or not.

Just kidding with you man. Look for the three badges and you can just make sure by actually looking under the car to see if you have rear axles.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your car.

THanks alot. I cant wait to start drivin it. Seems like a real fun car. I am used to the domestic scene. I have a modified camaro, so this is a bit of a change of pace. BUt I'm sure I'll like it. I'm thinking about lowering it and giving it some new shoes. I love the way these cars look when their squatted down.
