Just wondering how many people knew quattro was banned from a few different sanctioned racing bodies for being "too good". Its nothing new but I figured id try a poll and see how many people actually knew this.

Did you know Quattro was banned from some forms of racing?

 

I did . Pretty crazy...

 

it was banned in BTCC ( british touring car campionship) after Frank Biela literaly destroyed the rest of the car with 1995 A4 touring.In 1996,when audi won 7 out of 7 championships
(germany,sweden,UK,South Africa,Italy,Belgium,Spain,New Zeland) the quattro was banned in any touring or supertouring competetition.

btw. in the current Dutch supercar series there is a 450 hp A4 superturismo who is owning 900 hp Porsche GT2s and Dodge Vipers [8D]

 

that was one of the lines the sales person used to get me to buy the car, "you know audi's quattro system is so advanced that it has been baned from many race cars"

I think they should let Audi compete with the new Mitsu's and Scooby's in an exhibition to see how good it is.

 

Audi should scrap the current S4, since the RS4 makes it's luxury/V8 sport sedan niche redundant, and make a lightweight, Evo-esque I-5 turbo A4 variant. It would compete with the STI and the EVO for about 2500$ more.
