Hey guys i'm new to audi and this forums ofcourse, i know quattro its all wheel drive but i'm kind of confuse on the other model that audi makes, is it front wheel drive or rear wheel drive?. Which model is better to have performance wise and which model has better 1/4 mile times ? I'm about to buy a new car and audi seems lika a good car and i know don't know which one to get. i would really appreciate the help with both questions?

They are either front WD or all WD. Front would weigh less. However, when accelerating weight transfers to the rear wheels.

 

With massive power you'll get better times from a quattro, but with mild modding you'll get a FWD off the line quicker and it'll topout higher.

 

i would think if you are going to mod the hell out of it get the awd so you can launch at like 5k with no spin with the fwd its going to be like all other fwd cars and get a lot of wheel spin off the line the awd wieghs more but in my personal opinion I like the quattro espically since i live in Canada where we ushally have snow on the ground like 6 months of the year

 

i personaly have a quattro but i love it. Youy can put into like and corner and u wont slide. Also its better in the rain (or snow), and i got a insurance discount b/c of safety. I am also going to supercharger my 2.8 so then when i launch it the wheels wont spin and i will be abvle to work most ricers. AWD is way better thats why STI's and EVO's are both awd.

 

Go with quattro, unless you have the right setup i hear that fwd has traction probs when you add alot of hp.

 

AWD=quattro
FWD = Frontrak

get quattro. Better in all ways. Better launching, better handling, better late braking... etc

 

guys i'm thinking to get a chip too, if i get the quattro, which chip would be better apr or giac, i've heard good things about both but i still can't decide.

 

they are both very good companies and good chips. Pick the one that has an installer closest.

 

Ive had both and i like the people and chip better from giac. Im doin all my mod stuff through them now.
