Question about a clutch
Hello again everyone. I tried to ask this question on my last thread, but I guess no picked up on it. Anyways, I have been looking at a number of websites and calling local parts stores looking for a new clutch. I've been able to narrow my decision down to a few clutches, but I was hoping someone might know some specs on a this clutch that this local clutch shop is selling. The only info the worker knew about the clutch was that it is a Daikin 4 puck, ceramic disc clutch. Has anyone heard of a clutch like this?, or does anyone have a clue as to what kind of torque and HP it can handle? Thanks for any info.
there is also a s4 clutch but the rs4 clutch will handle much more hp than the s4. The RS4 is just a beast. Look in the off topic section and look at the videos of teh RS4. Then u will understand the power of them.
Another question about my clutch, is there something else that can be wrong with my car that would cause it to feel like the clutch is slipping besides the clutch being burnt, because my car only has 60000 miles on it and I've read of clutches lasting past 100000 miles.
i needed a new clutch at around 72000 mi. It all depends on ur driving. If u drive in cities or in traffic it vary well may be time for a new one. Also some launches copuld have caused it. I dont know how u drive so its hard to say.
I usually drive pretty easy, but I have no idea how the person who had my car before me drove, so....
Anyways, I'm still undecided about what clutch to get and the fact that I don't have much spare money isn't helping the decision making process. But, what do you guys think would be better to get the 4 puck ceramic clutch, or maybe a stock S4 clutch. (I have a '00 A4 1.8tq by the way)

Google that clutch you were asking about... haha
I dunno, if you drive your car lightly, dont be afraid to throw in another OEM clutch... you'll retain the same pedal feel that way. But yes, our old 96 V6 is still on its original clutch, and the car is at about 130 000 miles now... its all in how it was driven, like apg said... and how you drive now, should influence what clutch you decide on.
