Question about GIAC ecu
Hey everyone, someone is selling a 97 1.8T Automatic GIAC ecu. I think it might have been taken out of a golf/jetta.
My question is whether this will fit my car, a '98 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro?
And i've read some reviews and feedbacks.... seems like 50-50. HP is gained but you may encounter engine problems..
if anyone can answer my question and shed some like, it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks everyone

hey everyone.... ok i got the code.... The ECU code is 8D0 907 557P....
now, i've gone to the GIACUSA.com, and it seems that code and the code for my car are the same....
so that's good news.... now my question,....
what are some disadvantages of having the chip.... i already know what advantages.. but what are some cons of having the chip...
ex: more prone to engine repair.....
... more wear/tear??
please, any help is good....
thanks everyone

yeah - my old 98.5 had a stock 557P ecu in it.
Chip throws more boost through ththe entire system. So small leaks will be come big leaks.
Turbo will be receiving much more heavy use. Turbo/oil cool down procedure becomes more important
