Default Question after changing MAF

After having a boost leak and changing the MAF the other day i have realized something isnt right with my car. It burns way too much gas than before.

My car seems like it has way more boost now than it did before the MAF failed. It pulls like crazy.

Could they have done something at the dealer when they changed the MAF??

im not complaining about the boost, but the fuel economy is worse than my mom's navi.

thanks

Stef

edit: Oh one more thing.. wahts the largest size tire that can fit on a 17x7/7.5. im thinking of getting 225/40/ dont know if it will fit though

What year and mileage? Could your MAF been causing you to run lean, and a bad oxygen sensor causing you to run rich have been balancing each other?

Wouldn't each of these generate CELs?

18T check your fuel economy the manual way, not by the trip computer

gallons after fillup divide by miles driven. i know it sounds simple but my trip computer has been off a few times

maybe you have just been heavy on the foot feed since its running right[sm=gears.gif]

225/40/17............ what is your stock size? that just doesnt sound like the same overall diameter

How do you work that out? Your Trip meter & ODO run from the same thing? .... Don't they. Mine are always spot on.

my sport came with 205/55/16 which has a overall diameter of 24.87 in.//// yours should be the same

the 225/40/17 tire you want to put on has a overall diameter of 24.08 in.

you speedometer would be off by 1.9 mph @ 60 mph and in the long run put more miles on the odometer than you really have

still with me??

i would recommend a 225/45/17 which is still off by .3 mph @ 60mph but it it closer.

dont go any wider than 225 section width on a 7.5 in wide wheel
