Question to anyone with know-how
I was driving down into town tonight and i was coming down the hill. As i rounded the bend i noticed something flashing. I looked down at my dash and my check engine light was flashing, it flashed about 3-4 more times then the car shut off and i lost all power. I pulled over and let it sit for a minute then i tried to start the car. The car turned on fine then again just completely died. The battery is fine, full gas, ect... Not sure of the problem, any suggestions?
Btw 2 weeks ago i had a check engine light come on so i scanned it. i had 2 codes come up 1 was a random misfire and the other was a misfire on cylinder 2.
My thought is that the coil went out. A cylinder misfire can be a cause for that.
Thanks in advance

I had similar symtoms about a week ago. I was driving home from work one night and all of a sudden the just dies. Battery checked out ok, tank was full but I had no CEL. The only difference is my car wouldn't start again. I'm like WTF is goin here?? When the engine shut down, it was as if the serpentine belt popped rendering the alternator useless meaning that every indicator light on the dashboard illuminated. Sadly I had to get towed to the dealership as my car is still under warranty. So the technician performs a diagnostic check and he gets a readout of a bad RPM sensor I'm like ok and I'm thinking over-revving? Thats something I don't do. So he replaces the Sensor and still the same result, it won't start. So finally after 2 days they discovered I had a faulty fuel pump. The fuel pump just stop functioning, so they replaced it and all is well again. Its still hard for me to believe this happened, luckily I was on my way home from work. Don't you think that dealerships should be able to detect a non-functioning fuel pump when performing a diagnostics check??
yeah swift it definately sounds like a coil. pick one up, throw it in #2 cylinder as a start, and it should fix your problem. You can scan it again though... the codes will obviously still be stored in there.
same thing happened to me one night MAF was the problem I was pissed the tow truck driver couldn't hook up because of the FMIC so since it would start and shut right off he started held his foot to the floor and rode the clutch to **** to get it on the flat bed I cried as I watched

Suite3.0A4 the B6 fuel pumps are pretty common at our shop can't believe it took them 2 days to figure it out

And also never seen a bad crank sensor yet
