Default Question for Forge DV

Guys I found a Forge DV for B7 FSI 2.0 Turbo http://www.forgemotorsport.com/conte...oduct=FMDVFSiT but the question is, will it do any good for the turbo and car, if everything else is stock ?

Thanks a million

Please read this...

This is a PM i sent to someone explaing why a BOV is not recomended, and why i locked the thread discussing it. Not flaming on you in particular:

"MAF before BOV=run rich which=long term problems (plugged cat, fouled 02 sensors/spark plugs, carbon build up from engine head/block to muffler tips) and short term reduced mpg.

MAF after BOV=OK because the exact amount of metered air is getting to the combustion destination and is met with the correct ratio of fuel for optimal combustion when off throtle so you dont run rich when you get back on the gas = hesitation.

Get tuned with a BT to run without a MAF=OK.

Its all been talked about before. The 2.0 is no different than the 1.8 when it comes to how the whole system operates. There was a thread a few days ago discussing the exact BOV you were refering to, the same things were said, not only by myself, and its simply not recomended, but do what you want, its your car (and warranty to void.) I get bent out of shape when people show that all they care about is the noise that these BOV's make and could care less about what is happening mechanicaly (or not happening) when that noise takes place. I dont care what tuners you are talking with or who is encouraging the use of a BOV, physics is physics and logic is logic. There are a lot of easily influenced moders in the A4 section and the last thing we need is a bunch of pepople running BOV's when they are clearly hurting their engine rather than helping it. If you want a sound similar to that of a BOV, get an intake and quality DV from forge or baileys etc. It will be loud, if not as loud as a BOV and we both know that the noise is all you are interested in anyway. "

Here is the link to the original thread: https://www.audiforums.com/fb.asp?m=337713

Id like to add that since then evoic has returned from the dark side and now understands the affects of using a BOV on an engine that is tuned to use a DV only. Sorry to use such a harsh thread as an example, not trying to single him out, it just gives you the info you are requesting.

Thanks onepoint8tee

Actually this is exactly the info I need for a noob like myself, coz I did try to do some research before come and ask at the forum, and I got some article says its good for the turbo
A blow-off valve is mounted in the intake plumbing between the turbocharger compressor and the throttle plate. The blow-off valve is a second safety measure against the turbocharger over-boosting and damaging the engine.

A diverter valve acts the same as a BOV in the core concept of diverting pressure build up when you take your foot off the gas. What those people dont talk about is the specific location of the MAF in the intake/ turbo plumbing which is key.

Thanks again, point taken, I'll definitely do some more research and for now, I'll save myself for some bucks.
