Upon further review, I am reading that Amsoil is a better brand and offers more performance gains (albeit small gains for either) than a K&N.
Anyone care to chime in here??

Ah. Also, please note that I am referring to my A4, B7 Model.

K&N drop in will be fine with your B5 just go easy on the oil when it comes time to re-charge it...

OK, same question on my B7.
If I throw the K&N 33-2209 Air Filter into my new A4......is it a waste of $45?
Is there a better brand to consider?

The potential mods that are available for my A4 has turned me into someone that simply wants to put gas into it and drive it - to an anxious madman that wants to do as many minimally invasive upgrades and tweaks as I can to the car.

Keeping in mind that I am a first time Audi owner and I have had my car for exactly 4 weeks today. (It sat in the garage for the first 3 weeks that I had it because I was putting miles on a BMW that was coming to the end of a lease.)
Here are the list of mods that I am considering.

My to-do list:

New Air Filter ( K&N or ???)
New front plate panel (Audi OEM # 8E0807287D 3FZ BLACK - Thank you clconversion)
New DV (Forge or Baileys)
APR ECU upgrade (If Waterfest would ever friggin' get here)
Painted Lower back panel
E-Code Test Pipe (....maybe)
Coilovers (....maybe)
New Tires
Clear Corners (If I ever get the nerve up)
Tint
Small rear spoiler (eBay version, $100)

Total expected cost - Approx. $2,350 + Unmeasurable damage to my sanity and my marriage.

And it's STILLLLL almost $6k cheaper than my 330i was brand new.
