Question on my EGR

Default Question on my EGR

ok so I had a code pop yesterday P0401 EGR flow insufficient has any one ever had this if so what did you to to fix it? my dad said the EGR might need to be cleaned or something stupid like that any have any ideas lemme know thanks.

replacing it wouldnt really kill you, its a pretty inexpensive emissions

You most likely have a crack in the plastic hose that runs from the SAI to the Combi valve (EGR). Mine was pretty torn up and needed replace when i got my car. Someone did a crappy job fixing it before me. You could also just have the vac line on the combi valve disconnected or broken somewhere.

He has a 96, so no combi valve/SAP, etc. Probably a gunked up EGR valve or related hose problem like cincy is saying.
