Default Questions...

First off i would like to introduce myself...
My name is Adrian and I'm a certified Mechanic currenly working in a local alignment shop.

i'm about to purchase a 1998 Audi A4Q 2.8L 30V 5Spd.
i've been looking at getting a couple of goodies "upgrades" for my new toy, but this isnt gonna happen any time soon.
So... what would you guys suggest to do first ???
( Maintenance is first on my list: all Belts and tensioners, Coolant Flush, Oil Change, then a tranny fluid change )

Also has anyone swaped the 4.2L 40V into an A4 ??? If not is it possible ???
I was considering of "upgrading" to a fully built 3.0L and Twin Turbo it using Twin GT28Rs/K04 Hybris turbo's.
but that would cost just as much as the V8 conversion if not even more.

Now if the V8 is feasible then i would rather would go with an ITB set up with some mild cams and some exhaust work to allow it to breathe properly.
This would put me at around 500CHP while allowing longetivity and drivability all year around without this would also done through a stand alone EFI controler (mainly a DTA P8Pro which i already own from a aprevious race car)

Thanks guys that was really fast

The 1.8T is a ggod platform for modding, but i've been there and done that (VW 9A 2.0L 16V turbo with T04E => 390whp)
small engines are fun, but i would like to rty something different this time around.
And im sure 40V V8 with some ITB's would sure turn some heads at WOT !!

I think your 3.0 TT is a cooler idea for some reason...it would have a lot more power, for one.
Anything is possible if you have the money.

PES makes a supercharger for your 2.8 that brings it to 295 chp.

There is a twin turbo 2.8 jetta, no numbers on what he produced. You can find the thread at superchargedaudi.com.....

There is also a dane doing a 4.2 into a b6 conversion but he has not updated in several months.

Along with the Cosworth 4.2 conversion.

There is a TVA twin turbo 3.0 standalone that is out and about..
