I've been lurking for quite some time prior to buying my 01 A4...

So I picked up the A4 today... The only down side is I dont have a owner's manual, does anyone know where I can get one???

In the mean time what goes under the climate control? is it the ash tray? It doesnt slide out or anything? If not where is it? I have the ashtray but i got no idea where it goes?! While driving it back from D.C. it started beeping at me while the displayed showed MPH 1... WTF is that?! I cant figure it out...

Hey welcome to the forum. You can pick up manuals on ebay all the time.

The ashtray under the climate control should slide out if you press on it. They are often jammed though.

You can set the instrument cluster to warn you if you go over "x" amount of mph. I forget how you set it, but its in the manual.

 

oh yeah and my damn radio was unplugged so I cant play anything any clue to how to get it unlocked??? Can i just go to a dealer?

 

ya you can go to the dealer but they might charge you. also it might be printed on the door jam but donno for sure

 

The "SAFE" code is usually in the owners manual. It can also be located in the trunk sometimes in the spare wheel well. Sometimes its stuck to the trunk lid.

 

any tips to un jamming it???

You may have to remove the radio, then climate control, which will give you access to behind the ashtray. Pain in the **** I know.

 

damn i gotta go to the audi dealership...

im might as well buy the owners guide / service guide / and get my safe code. [:@] proably a bunch of other crap...

 

Frequently coins slide underneath it and jam it. Some people have taken a popsicle stick wrapped it in duct tape (sticky side out) and fished around for coins.

Can't hurt to try.
