Default Questions about Timing Belt and Tensioner

I drive a 2000 1.8Tq. I know you guys say to get the timing belt and tensioner replaced around 60k, and well im at 60738. I was looking up kits online and they said that the 2000 model already comes with the upgrade and not to worry about the timing belt / tensioner unless it is worn..? I was wondering if I should listen to them or just go ahead and get the tensioner and belt replaced?

Hey, welcome to forums.

I'd replace tensenior & belt. With these germans cars you never know once something breaks it all breaks.

U can get a kit from ECS Tuning.com

Yeah the 2000 has the updated tensioner.. Mine did, and I changed it at 72k miles. Belt looked good too. If I were you I wouldnt worry, but get it done at or before 80k miles to be safe.
