running a front mount is only needed when you have heatsoak issues, ie. bigger turbo, live somewhere very hot... otherwise its fine to retain stock side mount.

stock sidemounts heatsoak with just a chip, let alone with a BT.

Thats because the people install the ebay kit that uses to large of piping and to large of a ic for theko3/4 turbo. Bigger isnt always better.

yea they can heatsoak with just a stock setup, but not so much if you live in colder climate, thats why i said if you live somewhere hot, if you beat your car you will reap the effects. im speaking in terms of necessity, there is not much of a reason for a fmic if you live in average to cold temps and your not drivin it like you stole it.

Chances are if you are thinking about a FMIC you are the kind of person who will also want a chip.

The 1-2psi drop will be made up (power wise) by the colder denser air.

pick the right setup and the drop in pressure will be minimal if at all

im getting chipped by REVO in a couple weeks and i wanted to throw on a FMIC to do something different but wanted to make sure it wouldnt be overkill and end up slowing me down. I live in Socal so it gets pretty warm and that intake manifoldgets ridiculously hot no matter what time of the year it is...
