Default A quick noob question.

I was just wondering if you upgrade to a K04turbo will you have to change out the ECU if you already have an after market one? And when chipping a car do you have to send your OEM ECU out or is the new ECU just plug and play?

I believe you have to get your ECU upgraded for the Ko-4 then tune it.

for 2001, you can get your ecu flashed at a GIAC dealer when you upgrade to a k04. but i will tell you one thing, DO NOT GET A K04!!!

since you have a 2001, you have the upgraded k03 (k03s) which produces a max of 215hp while the k04 produces a max of 220hp, thats only 5 less hp.

you need to save up for an elim kit instead. it would be dumb (in my opinion) to spend all that money for not much at all.
