So I went to the dealer to get the radio code, but they cant help me cuz the radio isnt the same radio that was in the car orginally. Does anyone know how or where I would be able to get the code... I drove 13 hours yesterday w/ no code, i think went a little nuts after taht drive...

 

Do you mean it is an aftermarket radio or that it is an Audi radio, but isn't the one that came originally with the car.

They should have been able to pull the radio out and read the radio number. They should then be able to give you the number for that radio.

How do they know the radio isn't the original?

Call ahead, speak to the service manager and tell him your predicament before driving so far. If you have the vehicle registration they shouldn't give you any problem.

 

Its a stock audi radio, but it isnt the orginal (different serial number) radio that is registered w/ my VIN.

They said they cant get me code cuz it isnt the same as the one in the computers... I'll call a dealer in chicago today (I got to my destination, i swear i starte talking to myself...)

 

Should be able to give you the code, but they would have to pull the radio and chck the serial number.

im going to a dealer that is gonna do it for me... but he said he had to connect to the computer tho... does it sound weird???

take the radio off and take the serial number and call them.

did u ask them how much they are going to change you ? If you let them do it they will take your money for nothing!!!
