Radio code question?
Just got A4. Has all receipts and manuals except sound system. After search, on forums I've found pencil 4 digit code on trunk decal. How can I test to see if code is correct. Havn't lost power yet, so vehicle works fine. Don't want to wait until I lose radio. Thanks in advance.
I have my radio code and checked the decal in the trunk to see if it was there, and it wasn't. On another note, i've disconnected the battery for long periods of time with both of my A4's, and the radio never went into theft mode. They both have the audi/delta head units though.
radio codes arent in the owners manual..unfortunatly what we have to do to get it is go to the stealership and pay an hours labor so they can hook up their scanners and get some serial #s out of the computer in the radio and then email that off to germany and then they email the code back...atleast thats the way it is in the bose system got this from a very reliable source that used to work at an audi dealer
well i just got my code from the dealership cuz when i bought the car the code i had in the manual was worng. it cost me 43.95 and an hour to wait cuz my radio was in safe mode. the dealership is the only person that can tell you. i have bose and the smyphony system in my 01 1.8t

well if he doesnt have the manual why would he have the sound system one? if you ahve it you should be fine otherwise go to the dealer wait the half hour so they can get the code and pay the 44 bucks. they should be able to get you in right away. they did for me. i passed everyone else that was having problems due to the weather.
My question is this. Someone penciled in the trunk on the options tag a four digit code. Without disconneting the battery, is there a way to enterand test the code I think I have. Is there a way toinput my code without loosing power to the unit? On another note, is it worth it to get the bently? Nearest Audi dealer is 200 miles away.
i dont know of anyother way to test it other then making it go into safe mode. which would suck for you if the code you think you have is wrong. i would just wait and not try it until you need to go to the dealership for something. i think if i had $$$ for the bently i would get it but i would rather save the couple hundred and do something to my car.
