Default radio - must reinsert fuse to reset - '00 A4

I have to pull the fuse on my radio and reinsert it to get the radio to work each time I start the car. I had the radio replaced last year, and it suddenly failed after a storm about a month ago. The dealer reset it by changing out the fuse and although the fuse didn't seem "burned", they said sometimes it can have a small crack. This lasted till the next morning when the radio failed again. Dealer replaced the fuse in the rear of the radio this time and it worked fine until the next morning. Dealer then replaced the entire radio thinking it was defective. That worked fine until... you guessed it - the next morning. In the last two days I have replaced the fuse several times to reset the radio. However, it shuts down with the ignition going off.

What could be wrong with the car that would send a message to the radio causing it to shut down? Isthe antennea powered? Could it be damp and shorted out? Where is the antennea? Does it run up to the front of the sunroof?

same here started a few days ago. 2000 a4 avant. rain storm, next time radio won't work. pulled/cleaned radio fuse. worked. next time i started the car, nothing. installed new fuse, works. next time starting, nothing. now, pulling/replacing fuse isn't even consistant w/restarting radio. what did you do? i'm thinking of an aftermarket radio anyway, but if its in the wiring, that won't help.
thanks
