Default Radio Says, "Safe"

Man! My radios says, "SAFE" after disconnecting the battery. I looked in my manual and it says a number code in the Audi Symphony booklet. Well, it's been tore out. I looked everywhere. I called the dealership I bought it at said they didn't have the code and they wanted to charge me to get it from the car. Bulls**t, that they wanted to charge me for the code. I didn't loose it, they didn't give to me in the fist place. I called Audi and they said I would have to get it from the dealership. Is there any other way to get the code? I'm not going to pay $100 for the code. I will buy a new deck. I sware they make you have to do everything at the dealership.
I would appreciate your help!!!
Thank You!

Welcome to the forum.

The first place to search is in the forum archives as this is discussed daily.

Failing that, check in your trunk. the radio code may be in two possible locations.

In the wheel well, there may be either a sticker or the car ID information sticker. I believe that the code may be in the lower left corner of the sticker.

Alternatively, there may be a small white sticker with a hand written code on the underside of the trunk shelf, near the speakers. It is often hidden and you have to look through one of the "holes" to see it. You'll have to crawl in the trunk with a flashlight and look around.

I used search first. I tride a couple of 4 number combo's on the sticker where the spare tire is. I'll try the other ones you suggested. I didn't see those suggestions in the 2 pages of post I went through.

I tried all those and they haven't worked.
I called the dealer that I bought it from and they told me that don't have it. I would have to come in and scan the ecu for it. Of course charging me an hour = $100! I'm just going to get a DVD player instead. Anybody know where I can get a dash kit for a '00 A4 without bose. Do I have to get a Double Din and not a single?

A word of advice to all audi owners.

If you don't have your radio code, buy an auxilliary battery at pepboys for 19 dollars before youd\ disconnect your battery. That will save your codes.

Don't use this IF you are working on airbags. This has saved me more than once when I had to either change the battery or disconnect to access something.

Don't know if this applies to everyone, but to avoid my radio code screen when disconnecting the battery, before i disconnect the batt., i pull the radio fuse first, then disconnect. When done, i reconnect the battery, then insert the fuse. this has worked for me everytime and has never made punch in my code. I have done this even when changing batteries and it has worked. i don't know if it will work for everyone but it has for me so i figured i'd post it.

They don't make a dash kit, your going to have to have it custom made or make it yourself... I will try and get pics of mine sometime so you can see...
